Rory Tobin, head of the international business at iShares, is to quit the company as part of a management reshuffle, as reported earlier on IndexUniverse.com.

Mike Latham, previously head of iShares’ North American business, is to become global head of the world’s largest ETF business, while Joe Linhares, currently head of U.S. sales, will become head of iShares for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to a representative of BlackRock, which acquired iShares last year as part of a US$15.2 billion transaction to purchase Barclays Global Investors.

According to the spokesperson, the management reshuffle has the objective of centralising the iShares business under a single leadership.  Previously, the heads of iShares’ Asian and Latin American operations reported to London-based Tobin, who also spearheaded the company’s European, Middle East and African business.
