Terry Benzschawel is a managing director in bond portfolio strategy at Citi. He has a PhD in experimental psychology and held post-doctoral fellowships in optometry, ophthalmology and engineering before embarking on a career in finance. He joined Chase Manhattan bank in 1988, moving to Salomon Brothers’ fixed income arbitrage group in 1992 and in 1998 to fixed income strategy, as the firm became Salomon Smith Barney and then Citi. Terry’s focus throughout his career has been on the risk and relative value of corporate and sovereign debt, with a recent emphasis on credit models, credit derivatives and credit portfolio optimisation.

Feargal Dempsey is an independent director to investment fund and management companies. He acts also as a product structuring and regulatory consultant on UCITS and non-UCITS funds, financial instruments and supporting operational infrastructural and distribution strategies, with a particular focus on exchange-traded funds and instruments. He has held several senior positions within the investment management industry, most recently at BlackRock where he was head of product strategy for iShares EMEA. Feargal is an Ireland and England and Wales admitted solicitor.

Frédéric Ducoulombier heads EDHEC-Risk institute in Asia and co-heads the institute’s global research on financial regulation. He is also an associate professor of finance at EDHEC Business School. He has recently contributed to EDHEC-Risk institute’s publications on the purported risks of ETFs and on non-financial risks in the European fund management industry and co-authored the institute’s contributions to international consultations on ETFs, indices and benchmarks.

Marcus Schüler is managing director and head of regulatory affairs at Markit, responsible for the firm’s relationships with regulatory authorities and relevant stakeholders, including securities regulators, central banks and trade associations. Marcus joined Markit in 2008 from Deutsche Bank, where he was managing director and head of integrated credit marketing in Europe. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he was responsible for credit derivative flow marketing at J.P. Morgan. Marcus has a degree in business from the University of Cologne and a CEMS master’s degree in international management.

Konrad Sippel is global head of business development at STOXX Ltd., where he is also responsible for the index businesses of STOXX, Deutsche Börse and SIX Swiss Exchange. Konrad has spent the last decade in the index business, primarily as an index developer at Deutsche Börse. He graduated in mathematics from Queen Mary College in London and holds an MBA from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
